Candle Care
Before Burning
-
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch (6 mm) before each burn.
-
If it’s a wood wick, trim to about 1/8 inch and remove any charred wood before relighting.
-
-
Place on a heat-resistant, level surface, away from drafts, curtains, pets, or kids.
While Burning
-
Burn for 2–3 hours minimum on the first burn to allow the wax to melt edge to edge. This prevents tunneling.
-
Do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time. This keeps the jar from overheating and preserves the scent.
-
Keep the wax pool free of debris like wick trimmings or dust.
-
If the flame gets too high or flickers excessively, extinguish it, let it cool, and trim the wick before relighting.
When to Stop
-
Discontinue use when about 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.
-
Burning beyond that can overheat the glass and pose a fire risk.
After Use
-
Let the wax solidify before putting the wooden lid back on.
-
Store the candle with the lid on to preserve fragrance and prevent dust.
Extra Tips
-
Use a candle snuffer to avoid smoke and wax splatter.
-
For wooden wicks, if the candle won’t stay lit, the wick may be too long or buried in wax. Gently trim and clean around it.
